Birth Doula Support

The whole point of woman-centered birth is the knowledge that a woman is the birth power source. She may need, and deserve, help, but in essence, she always had, currently has, and will have the power. -Heather McCue

Before, During and After Birth Support

Prenatal

She will educate you and your partner about options and choices while helping you sift through information so that you can make informed decisions about what is best for your growing family. This is also the time when she and your partner will learn how to best work together to ensure that your needs and goals are honored.
She will check in with you after your prenatal appointments and validate your feelings. On call for you from date of hire, she is your unwavering source of support.

Labor & Birth

The unknowns of labor and birth can weigh heavily on your mind.
Was that a contraction? What is a mucus plug again? Am I in labor?
Your Birth Doula normalizes your experience and talks you through the process. A constant calm, experienced and confident presence.
Your Birth Doula is with you. Encouraging you to follow your body's lead, helping you to tune into it's wisdom and surrender. Hip squeezes, massage and counter pressure. Position changes and lunges. Facilitating efficient use of your movements and energy while holding the space for you and your partner to connect.
As options & choices are presented she is your resource for calm, questions and discussion free from big words and medical jargon.
As you are moving your baby down and are preparing to meet earthside for the first time, your doula will praise your efforts and encourage you to dig deep and tap into strength you didn't know you had.

Postpartum

Your doula stays with you after the birth to assist with positioning and those first magical nursing sessions.
She will follow up with you daily until your scheduled postpartum visit when you all sit down together to reminisce about your birth experience, make sure latch is comfortable and everyone is transitioning to the new normal of the 4th trimester well.
