Tulsa Placenta Services

Restoring your body back to balance with the same nutrients that created and sustained your baby's life. Naturally.

"Amy has encapsulated my placenta twice, once in November 2015 and again last week. She promptly picked up my placenta, made me a delicious smoothie and delivered all of my goodies the next day. In my personal experience, I believe my placenta pills helped balance my hormones (and headaches) during postpartum my last pregnancy and I am so glad I have them again. My placenta prints and umbilical hearts are simply beautiful and such a wonderful keepsake. Thank you, Amy!" -Whitney C.

We don't just have 'repeat clients'... we have families who continue to trust us with babies 1, 2, 3 and beyond!

Encapsulation

Benefits of consuming your placenta may include:

  • Lessening the risk of Baby Blues
  • Natural pain relief
  • Stabilize post birth hormones
  • Replenish depleted iron levels
  • Establishing an early and healthy milk supply
  • Reduce post-birth bleeding
  • Replenish B vitamins and energy
  • Lending a constant flow of oxytocin long after your birth euphoria ends
  • Make for a happier, more enjoyable postpartum period
Nearly 80% of women experience symptoms of baby blues within the first week of birth. Recent studies are showing that mothers who ingest their placenta have lower instances of emotional issues while reporting increased energy and milk supply.

Your body has become accustom to higher hormone levels that sustained your pregnancy. Ingesting your placenta enables you to slowly and safely wean yourself off of elevated hormone levels until your body stabilizes.

Tincture

A tincture picks up where the capsules leave off and adds longevity to your placenta. A thumbnail size portion of raw placenta and a few drops of umbilical cord blood, which is rich in T-cells and stem cells, is added to 100 proof vodka. The tincture is placed in sunlight for 4 hours and then transferred to a dark, cool, cabinet and allowed to ferment for 6 weeks. If the solution will be used before 6 months the placenta piece is strained using a cheesecloth. The longer the placenta sits in the alcohol the more potent it will become and the more the tissue will break down. The tincture has an almost indefinite shelf life if stored properly and can be utilized for energy, transition, stress, hormone stabilization and are therefore great for returning cycles and menopause. You can also heat the tincture to burn off the alcohol. The biological daughter of the placenta owner can use the tincture when menstruation begins for cycle stabilization and hormone balance.

Salve

Placenta salve can be used to heal C-Section incisions, lessen scarring, itching, and discomfort after the wound has closed. It can also be used as soon as 3 days postpartum for hemorrhoids, perineal tearing, burns, diaper rash, eczema, sunburns and skin irritations. Safe for baby as long as there are no skin sensitivities (test a small area first). 3-4 capsules worth of placenta is infused with Comfrey Leaf (helps heal wounds quickly. Great for burns, blisters and inflammation. Comfrey has a soothing effect on any organ it comes into contact with), Calendula (used to help soothe inflamed tissues, reduce pain and aids in quick healing of cuts and abrasions), Sweet almond oil *Apricot oil is available for families with nut allergies*, Shea butter, Beeswax pastilles and Plantain oil (Astringent, antiseptic, and emollient) for 3 hours on low heat. Oils are strained through a cheese cloth and poured into a 4oz amber jar and refrigerated to solidify. Placenta salve is good for approximately one year.

Steam-Start Method

Preparation using the Steam-Start Method involves heating the placenta with steam before dehydrating. Traditionally, this method is used to replenish warmth back to the mother that was lost in the birthing process and to rebalance the mother's Qi and energy. This method is commonly referred to as the Traditional Chinese Method but we are not doctors of Chinese Medicine. If you desire to work with a Doctor of Chinese Medicine and have a specialized blend of herbs prescribed for you we can use those herbs in the heated preparation.

As an added safety precaution, the Steam-Start method must be used for all Mothers who test positive for Group B streptococcus (GBS +).

Process:

  •  Membranes and cord are removed.
  • The placenta is steamed lightly.
  • After steaming and cooling the placenta is sliced into thin strips.
  • Strips are placed into the dehydrator.
  • The dehydrator is set at 160 degrees per safe food handling guidelines to kill any and all bacteria and runs for approximately 24 hours or until the strips are completely dehydrated and crisp.
  • Dehydrated strips are ground into a fine powder then put into size 0 capsules.
  • The capsules are transferred to an amber jar with a desiccant bag and sealed

ORGANIC method

The Organic Method skips the initial steaming process. The Organic Method is popular as it is believed that steaming the placenta destroys some of the nutrients. Using the Organic Method creates very nutrient and hormone-dense capsules while producing a higher yield of capsules.  *Must be done within 24 hours of birthing.

As an added safety precaution, Mothers who test positive for group B streptococcus (GBS +) are not eligible for the Organic Method.

Process:

  •  Membranes and cord are removed. The amniotic sac, rich in stem cells, is placed in the dehydrator.
  • The placenta is sliced into thin strips.
  • Strips are placed in the dehydrator.
    • The dehydrator is set at 160 degrees per safe food handling guidelines to kill any and all bacteria and runs for approximately 24 hours or until the strips are completely dehydrated and crisp.
  • Dehydrated strips are ground into a fine powder and then put into size 0 capsules.
  • The capsules are transferred to an amber jar with a desiccant bag and sealed.

 COVID-19 INFORMATION

While the COVID-19 virus is present in our community I will NOT be entering any birthing location. Pick up will look differently: I will park at the entrance of your birthing location. You will need to have a support person available to bring your cooler with the placenta to the entrance.
For drop off of your pills-- same arrangement applies. I will meet your support person at the entrance or if you have already been discharge, your home.

I know these are crazy times! I appreciate how important it is for you to utilize your placenta for postpartum healing and I want to assure you that my safety guidelines have always and will continue to be in strict accordance to OSHA's standards which are as follows.
OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard 29 CFR 1090.1030 which includes, but is not limited to:

  • The Placenta Specialist must use single-use, disposable gloves.
  • The Placenta Specialist must wear proper eye gear, gown, and face mask.
  • The area where the process takes place must be disinfected with a 10:1 bleach solution that sits on the surface and all instruments be fully submerged for at least 10 minutes.
  • All the necessary equipment used for the processing of the placenta is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in a 10:1 bleach solution prior to and after each placenta.
